Well what I believe is that when the pilgrims landed in America, they created that law (or whatever you want to call it) because they wanted to keep the State out of the Church and not the Church out of the State. This was because they had been pursecuted in England over their religious choices. The government in England was trying to control the Church.
I don't think the whole ten commandments deal and the Bibles at school issue is right. Anyone should be able to express their religious beliefs anywhere. That's what America was founded upon.

I really have no idea what the American consitution says about religion and the state so I cant really comment. But, I will say that I think the 2 go hand in hand. I would imagine that the American government are always turning to the church for help and advice on running the country and protecting the American citizens from harm

I wish. There's something in our contitution or something that states that the church and government should be separate because a lot of our immigrants came here for religious freedom, so common religious views shouldn't be forced on those who believe in something else. Now, I'm sure you know that people love to twist somewhat vague laws and such like that to get their opinions heard and acted upon. Therefore, they see this law/clause as a way to repress Christians and other religious people. Eventually America will have so little religion allowed in public that hardly anyone will have any kinds of beliefs of that sort anymore, and I personally think that without morals and such being enforced since a young age like you get with organized religion, the world with turn evil, and it will be the destruction of us all. Wow, I am a positive one, aren't I?

But shouldnt people be free to make their own decision as far as religion goes? The problem with America, and any other country is the west is religion. Each religion hates the rest because they believe theres is the right one. But the miss the point. It doesnt matter what you have faith in, just that you have faith. Until the human race realises that, we'll be fighting religious wars for centuries to come.
